The contact material is a copper alloy, with selective gold plating (minimum 0.76 μm or 30 μinch) over 1.27 μm (50 μinch) of nickel in the contact area. The solder pins are plated with tin over nickel, and the shielding pin is also nickel-plated. Additionally, the connector is capable of withstanding 260°C reflow temperatures.
